CLEAR DREAM MATCH II SLATED ON AUGUST 24

Up until last July 10, I never really knew much about the Clear Dream Match other than the first one held was during at the peak of soccer's popularity here in our country and that its faces were those of the Younghusbands.

At the launch of the second Clear Dream Match, guests were asked which team will they root for this year by choosing the James or Phil CLEAR uniforms upon entrance at K-PUB BBQ in BGC.
We were able to keep the shirts too! Of course, we have to wear it all throughout the event to show our support to either James or Phil.
I went with my gut instinct (and by instinct, I meant Angel Locsin's —she's a friend by the way) by choosing Phil. It got me a friendly tap on the shoulder and a "Good choice!" comment from Phil himself.

It was also at the event I discovered that Phil was last year's reigning Clear Dream Match champion. So I guess I made the right choice.
This year, CLEAR Philippines will donate a percentage of ticket sales to the Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation, as well as Unilever Personal Care products for all children in the foundation.
In its second year, the biggest football all-star game in the Philippines, the Clear Dream Match, returns with more football talent and a more intense rivalry between Phil and James Younghusband.

Following last year's 5-1 defeat to younger brother Phil, James vows to even the score,

This year also brings one rather remarkable twist. With the best of Filipino football, comes for the first time ever, the addition of two football legends!
"We wanted to shake things up this year by bringing in two international football legends to compete with our country's best," says CLEAR Philippines Brand Manager, Drew Copuyoc.
And here are the football legends who are going to make an appearance at the 2013 Clear Dream Match: Chelsea F.C. Legend, Dennis Wise, and 2006 FIFA World Cup Champion, Fabio Cannavaro.
Both seasoned professionals, Wise and Cannavaro have garnered several individual and team accolades in their time. Cannavaro, a former Real Madrid player has won two La Liga titles, but perhaps his greatest achievement was captaining Italy to the FIFA World Cup victory in 2006 and bagging the FIFA World Player of the Year award in the same year.

Wise on the other hand is one of the most successful players to captain Chelsea. During his time at Stamford Bridge, Wise won two  FA Cups, a League Cup and a UEFA Cup Winners' cup.
The addition of Wise to the Clear Dream Match is actually a dream of sorts for James and Phil.

"When we were still training with Chelsea, we used to watch Wise play all the time. He is like a legend to us," James says.

"During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, I was watching on T.V. and cheering with the rest of the world as Cannavaro led Italy to the championship," Phil adds.

So who's it gonna be? Team James or Team Phil? What team will Cannavaro and Wise play on? Who will be this year's Clear Dream Match champion? All will be settled in a month's time, but the story of this year's Clear Dream Match has just begun, and it can very much be decided by you.

Another significant addition to this year's Clear Dream Match is the role of the fans. Copuyoc says, "The first draft pick will be dependent on the team with the most fan interactions on Facebook." From the onset fans will get to join the rivalry by going to Facebook.com/ClearPH or by downloading the Clear Stadium app on the Play Store or the App Store. They can vote for their favorite football players, play interactive games and share their support for their favorite team to get more points.

And to show how confident Phil and James are, the most digitally active fan of the winning team will join the Younghusbands for a trip to Brazil in 2014.
