IMDB TOP 50 JAPANESE ANIMATION/MANGA MOVIES

Was drafting a supposedly awesome introduction for this post in my head when this girl Juvie on #TheVoicePh came up. I got distracted. By the way, if you wanna win exclusive passes to watch The Voice of the Philippines live, click HERE.

Now back to regular programming.

It was a couple of days ago when I woke up at around 8:00am thinking it was still 6. Everything was dark and gloomy and cold and meh, you get my gist. Since nobody's up yet other than me (they were fooled by the weather too!), I decided to walk around the house in my running shoes. Yes, walk in my running shoes. #lame. Well, that's me, training in preparation for tomorrow's KOTR. #doublelame

But you know what I really love doing in the kind of weather we're having lately? Stay in bed, open my laptop, and watch Japanese animated movies for as long as there's one that is free online I like.

Been watching Hayao Miyazaki's and Studio Ghibli's for awhile now and I must say that they have, hands down, the most beautiful storylines and memorable characters. I'm down to a couple more movies before I finish their whole lineup and with the sun acting antisocial more often than not lately, I'm worried that I might run out.

And then I googled "Top Japanese Animated Movies."

IMDb gave me its top 50.
1. Spirited Away 2. Howl's Moving Castle 3. Princess Mononoke 4. Akira 5. My Neighbor Totoro
6. Porco Rosso 7. Ponyo 8. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind 9. Castle in the Sky 10. The Animatrix
11. Grave of the Fireflies 12. Kiki's Delivery Service 13. The Cat Returns 14. Ninja Scroll 15. Pom Poko
16. Tokyo Godfathers 17. Perfect Blue 18. Blood: The Last Vampire 19. Sword of the Stranger 20. Whisper of the Heart
21. Xiao Qian 22. Ghost in the Shell 23. Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence 24. Battle Angel 25. Tales from Earthsea
26. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within 27. Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children 28. Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade 29. Millenium Actress 30. Paprika
31. Memories 32. Steamboy 33. Tekkonkinkreet 34. Vexille 35. The Secret World of Arrietty
36. Summer Wars 37. 5 Centimeters Per Second 38. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time 39. Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro 40. My Neighbors the Yamadas
41. Only Yesterday 42. Metropolis 43. Wicked City 44. Cowboy Bebop: The Movie 45. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
46. Roujin Z 47. The Place Promised in Our Early Days 48. Wings of Honneamise 49. Barefoot Gen 50. The Sky Crawlers
Already watched Perfect Blue and Tokyo Godfathers. Though both have happy endings, Perfect Blue was bothersome. Try watching it first before Tokyo Godfathers but nonetheless, both were amazingly good.
