UNIQLO opened its seventh and largest store in the Philippines at SM Megamall last November 15 and is set to open four more before the year ends at Robinsons Place Manila, SM Clark, SM BF Paranaque, and SM Dasmarinas. By August 2014, UNIQLO will hit its nine stores target by opening at SM Southmall, Eastwood City, Gateway Mall, and SM Sta. Rosa.

During its SM Megamall store's media launch last November 12, UNIQLO also announced (aside from its expansion plans until summer of 2014) its support to the relief efforts done for areas devastated by Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines by pledging Php1 Million in cash and another Php1 Million equivalent in much needed clothing such as t-shirts and innerwear. This assistance will go to the families in need of food, water, shelter and other essentials across the affected provinces especially the hard hit Visayas region.

To date, UNIQLO and Fast Retailing has provided aid for disaster relief, spearheaded youth education initiatives, and established charitable funds from a portion of its sales in the Philippines. Fast retailing stands by its corporate statement - committed to changing clothes, changing conventional wisdom, and change the world.
