Your first time in Hong Kong wouldn't be complete without including a day (or two) visit to Disneyland in your itinerary. It's actually the top reason why I braved going to Hong Kong on a sweltering weekend of June last year. It somehow made my first time in the country, seemed legit.

Getting to Hong Kong is a walk in the park. First, you don't need a VISA to enter the country. Second, it's just a 2-hour plane ride from the Philippines. And lastly, airfare is so cheap (hello, Piso Fare!) you can bring your whole family there without breaking the bank.

Getting to Disneyland Resort is also easy as getting to Hong Kong. Just take their efficient MTR system and you're good to go. Connect to the Tung Chung line and alight at Sunny Bay station.

At Sunny Bay, take the dedicated train to the Disneyland Resort.

Hardcore Mickey Mouse fans will go crazy inside the train!

My first "ride" going to the park with Mickey and his friends.

And we're at the park!

Disneyland Resort is not overwhelmingly big. In fact, a day trip is enough for you to visit all the attractions and several rides and that's including the parade and the fireworks display which sadly, I never got the chance to experience. Oh well, there's always a next time!

I don't have much to say about the rides because I did not participate in any (I had an "I'm too old for this" moment) but I do hope that these photos are enough for you to long that day when you'll be able experience a day at the happiest place on Earth.

I particularly like this part of the park: Toy Story Land!

The place was truly magical!

I actually missed out on a lot of things including having my photo taken with Mickey and Minnie Mouse (but still, I enjoyed every bit of my time at the park). Good thing they made a special appearance last February 4 at the launch of Hong Kong Disneyland and SM Supermalls partnership held at the Skydome, SM North Edsa.

From February 12 to March 13, SM will be giving 30 lucky SM patrons a unique and memorable Disney experience joining Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney friends for Hong Kong Disneyland 10th anniversary celebration!
