At last year's Make Your Own Havaianas, I created this pair:

It being my very first to attend an MYOH event, I made sure that it's gonna be one for the books. After all, it was also my first time to own a Havaianas pair. Seriously. I used to be not a fan of flip flops but ever since I got my first pair (complete with my online name stamped on both straps), I made a vow to never miss a single MYOH event ever in my life and of course, stay loyal to the brand and won't let any flip flops touch my feet other than those of Havaianas (naks!).

Now this year's MYOH theme is imagination.

Being a fan of Superman,

and all things that fly...

…this is what I came up with:
I call this design "Super Space Man"
I also got the limited edition (and the real) "Spaceman and constellation" design of Dan Matutina.

This year's MYOH pins come in the form of astronauts,

rocket ships,

and wings, of course! How else do imaginations take flight?

Here's the complete list of limited edition pins designed by Dan Matutina.

As a world-renowned brand distinguished for being an advocate of fun-fashionand self-expression, Havaianas has always been open to collaborations when it comes to designs. The brand continues to coincide with the individual charm and personality of several noted icons the world over, hence, parallel ideals and imageries were ceaselessly developed - bringing the energy of the worlds of fashion, sports and art into one melting pot.
Rewinding to a few years back, Havaianas rode the waves of Australian surf star and style master Luke Stedman for psychedelic tie-dye designs that mirrored the vigor of the oceans.
Short after, the iconic footwear was given a clean, minimalist makeover when it collaborated with famed New Yorker designer, Michael Bastian.
To celebrate Mother's Day in 2012, Havaianas revealed an exclusive "Mommy & Me" collection designed by Hollywood celebrity moms Courteney Cox, Nina Garcia, Rebecca Romijn, and Tori Spelling for Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing families in need of essential products and educational services for their children.
Havaianas did not stop there, as in the same year, the boundless joy and energy inherent to the brand was intensified when it collaborated with Italian fashion house Missoni for punchy-patterned flip-flops that became everyone's ticket to summer.
This year, Havaianas proudly introduces its collaboration with Filipino illustrator and Havaianatico Dan Matutina for the first Make Your Own Havaianas glow-in-the-dark commemorative pair.
Dan Matutina - Havaianas, available on carbon blue sole, features spacemen with space markers connecting the stars to form images - representing how Havaianas enables everyone's creativity and imagination to take off to greater heights.
In the ultimate celebration of self-expression that every Havaianatico has come to know, Havaianas will be intensifying this year's Make Your Own Havaianas experience by recognizing everyone's creativity through You + Havaianas.

You + Havaianas os the brand's first major crowdsourcing contest where everyone will be given the chance to submit a winning design, which will become a limited edition style for the Havaianas 2014 Collection.
You + Havaianas is launched on-ground together with Make Your Own Havaianas on May 2 − 5, 2013 at the Rockwell Tent, with simultaneous executions in Laoag, Subic, Batangas, Naga, Cebu, Bacolod, Boracay, CDO and Davao.
